Personal Statement

I was born I Orlando but quickly moved overseas with my Foreign Service Officer Parents. I have lived in Israel, India, Sri Lanka (then called Ceylon), and Saudi Arabia. It was in Saudi Arabia that I took to the water (it was a necessity in Saudi) and began a 10 year competitive swimming career that lasted through high school. It was through swimming that I learned the benefits of weight training and cardiovascular workouts and why, as an adult, I tool to the roads as a runner to keep my hand in competition. To date I have completed 9 full marathons ( Including Disney, Rome (Italy), Vienna (Austria), The Marine Corp Marathon, and the Air Force Marathon), and have run 13 half-marathons (including Disney, OUC, San Francisco, Georgia and New Orleans). At the ripe old age of 40 I decided to leave Walt Disney World after 10 years and turn my life passion for physical fitness into a vocation and began pursuing my personal trainer certifications.

Outside of the gym I enjoy spending time with my family, including my two beautiful and brilliant daughters, Allie (15) and Madison (14), as well as reading, traveling, and scuba diving and recently have taken up growing orchids.
